Unioto's Lady Shermans extended their lead in the SVC basketball lead Tuesday with a 51-19 win at Paint Valley. The Purple & Gold never trailed in the game and had built a 27-7 halftime lead and never looked back.
The win puts the Lady Shermans 2.5 games in front of Huntington and 4 games in front of Paint Valley, with four conference games to play.
Unioto had two players in double figures, as they were led by Emily Coleman and Jocie Fisher with 15 and 10 points respectively. The Lady Bearcats had 7 from Kelsey Dunn and Leah McFadden with 5.
Unioto shot 21/52 from the field for 40%- including 3/15 from the arc and were 6/10 from the foul line. Paint Valley was 9/25 from the field for 36%- including 0/4 from the arc. The Lady Bearcats were 11/18 from the foul line.
The Lady Tanks turned the ball over 19 times, but PV coughed it up 24 times. Unioto wins the rebounding battle 28-16.
Unioto, who is ranked 12th in the state AP poll, improves to (10-0/14-2) while Paint Valley drops to (6-4/9-8).
