The Ross County Grand Jury returned all fourteen of the cases presented during its Friday session, but only four of the cases were open.

Brian S. Stonerock, 41, of Kingston, has been indicted on a single fourth-degree felony charge of trespassing in a habitation where a person is present or likely to be present.

According to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office, Stonerock is alleged to have entered an enclosed back porch of a residence on South Main Street in Kingston around 3:00 a.m. on February 4th.

A Ross County Sheriff’s Deputy was called to the scene after one of the home owners heard loud banging from the rear porch area of the home, and a short time later, from the back door of the home.

The deputy arrived on scene to find that Mr. Stonerock had allegedly pried the door of an enclosed porch open to reach the residence. He claimed to the investigating deputy that he was being chased by drones and was seeking help.

If convicted of these charges, Mr. Stonerock could receive a sentence of anywhere from six months to eighteen months in jail, with a fine of $5,000.

Keith A. Mosley, 38, of Grove City, has been indicted on third-degree felony counts of having weapons under disability and carrying concealed weapons, and a fourth-degree felony charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

The indictment stems from a February 27th incident where Chillicothe Police were called to a home on East 5th Street in regard to a breaking and entering in progress.

Officers arrived on scene to find a green Mercury Grand Marquis parked in the driveway of the home with two individuals hunched down in the front seats. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a black 5-shot Smith & Wesson .38 revolver stashed between the driver’s seat and the driver’s-side door.

Mr. Mosley was in the driver’s seat and was found to have a prior drug and violence offenses against him out of Franklin County. If convicted, Mosley could serve between six to eighteen months behind bars with a $5,000 fine.

Aaron M. Myers, 21, of Chillicothe, has been indicted on a single fifth-degree felony charge of possession of marijuana and a single fourth-degree charge of carrying concealed weapons.

Mr. Myers was arrested on January 24th after a Chillicothe Police Officer observed a grey Chevy with overly tinted windows traveling along Stewart Road. A probable cause K-9 search of the vehicle revealed the presence of drugs inside the car and a large bag containing 441.88 grams of marijuana was soon found. A 9mm pistol was also located inside the vehicle’s glove box.

Mr. Meyers faces a possible sentence of six to eighteen months incarceration with a fine of $5,000 for the alleged possession of marijuana, and six to 12 months with a $2,500 fine for the alleged concealment of the weapon.

Robert E. Detty, 34, of Chillicothe, has been indicted on a single fourth-degree felony count of receiving stolen property.

The accusation against Mr. Detty comes from February 24th when he was found to be operating a 2007 Dodge Nitro, reported stolen from a Londonderry residence five days prior. Mr. Detty was also found to have three active unrelated warrants out for his arrest, and was not in possession of a valid driver’s license. He claimed to have been given permission to use the vehicle, but the owner of the vehicle denied that claim.

If convicted, Detty could spend between six and eight months in jail with a $5,000 fine.

The next session of Ross County Grand Jury takes place Friday, April 12th.
