Two people were transported to separate hospitals Wednesday as the result of a two-vehicle collision on State Route 32 in Pike County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Melissa Baldwin, 50, of Chillicothe, was attempting to make a turn onto State Route 32 from State Route 220 around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday when her 2016 Jeep Cherokee was struck by a westbound 2008 Hyundai Elantra operated by Karla McClary, 61, of Waverly.

Both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries. Mrs. Baldwin was transported by ground squad to Adena Pike Medical Center. Mrs. McClary was flown by Med Flight to Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia.

The factors that led to the crash remain under investigation.

Units from the Pike County Sheriff's Office, Piketon Fire Department and Pike County EMS assisted the patrol at the scene.
