Voters in the Union Scioto School District are being asked to approve a 1/2% Income Tax Levy Renewal, when they go to the May Primary Election ballot.
-
District Treasurer John Rose says they are not being projected to receive any additional state revenue for the next five years and are actually trying to catch up from state dollars lost, from the recession several years ago.
-
The proposed renewal levy generates an estimated $1.4 million per year and has been in place since 1991.
-
The levy is in no way related to a recent gym levy that was voted down and these monies would not be used for that.
-
The Primary election is May 7th, but early voting is now underway.
