Repairs to the Eastern Avenue overpass bridge at Chillicothe continue, and the structure will remain closed through the first of next week.

In a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation on Thursday, the agency announced that as part of the ongoing pavement repair and resurfacing project on U.S. Route 35 in Ross County, the Eastern Avenue bridge situated over U.S. 35 and the off-ramp from U.S. 35 westbound to Eastern Avenue have been closed this week while crews from the Shelly Company repair the deck and mill and pave the surface.

Although the ramp and bridge were initially scheduled to be reopened to traffic Friday evening, the schedule has been changed due to anticipated inclement weather, and both will remain closed through Monday, May 13.

The closure will be in effect until approximately 6 p.m. Monday, or until all work is completed, and while the section of roadway is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of Main and Bridge streets in Chillicothe.
