Active Shooter Training Taking Place at Circleville High School

The Circleville Police Department, in conjunction with Texas State University, Ohio Christian University and Circleville City Schools, is once again hosting training through ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training). The class offered this year is titled First Responder Medical (formerly called Active Shooter Level II train the trainer).

This training is being held June 10th through June 14th at Circleville High School and is for both law enforcement and fire/ems personnel who will be certified as instructors upon successful completion of the class.

Sgt. Matthew Hafey says by continually training with the most advanced methods, it ensures first responders are properly equipped with the skills needed to respond to active threat situations. The Circleville Police and Fire Departments, along with agencies from other counties and states are attending this class. This training is provided free of charge from federal and state grant monies through the Texas State University.
