Charges are pending against a man wanted on several warrants, apprehended Tuesday in Pike County.

According to a release from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, a Pike County Sheriff’s deputy was parked along Morgans Fork Road around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday when a motorcycle operated by a male matching the description of an individual wanted on multiple felony domestic violence warrants traveled past the deputy’s patrol cruiser.

The deputy was able to visually identify the bike’s operator as the wanted suspect, Joshua Barnett. The deputy gave chase and a brief pursuit ensued, which ended along Owens Road when Mr. Barnett, along with an unidentified female passenger on the bike, hopped off the motorcycle and fled on foot into nearby woods.

The deputy was able to catch up with Mr. Barnett and take him into custody. The female was able to disappear into the woods, but she was later identified by authorities. Her name is withheld in the Sheriff’s press release.

Mr. Barnett was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants for felony domestic violence, one felony warrant for manufacturing, and one misdemeanor warrant for domestic violence. Additional charges against Mr. Barnett are pending further investigation. He is currently being housed in the Butler County Jail.
