Ross Soil & Water Conservation District Plans Annual Meeting

The 72nd Annual Meeting of the Ross Soil and Water Conservation District will be held Thursday, August 22nd at the Ross County Service Center. "Beyond the Numbers” is the theme of the meeting.

The guest speaker will be from the National Weather Service who will look beyond the numbers at precipitation trends, river flooding forecasts, sources for reliable weather data, and “The art of forecasting - What can throw them off?”

.

The district will look beyond the numbers to recognize the conservation practices of Pleasant View Farms in South Salem and name Jeff Cottrill and as the district’s "Cooperator of the Year".

Two supervisors will be elected at the annual meeting- to oversee state and county funding and federal conservation resources. Three candidates are running including incumbent supervisor Michael M. Anderson of South Salem. Also running for an open term are Brian Brown of Londonderry and Greg Ramsey of Clarksburg.

Those planning to attend should contact the Ross Soil and Water Conservation District by August 15th to RSVP. Cost is only $10 to attend.
