A Chillicothe woman has died in a wreck on Liberty Hill Road in Ross County.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified of a serious injury crash at 8:47pm, Saturday, approximately 3 miles south of State Route 772. Prior to the Patrol’s arrival on scene, members of the Huntington Township EMS confirmed the crash involved a fatality.

A Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 26-year-old Mary B. Jones, was traveling southwest on Liberty Hill Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Jones was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Huntington Township Fire Department and EMS assisted at the scene, along with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office and the Ross County Coroner. The crash remains under investigation
