The Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 is now hiring seasonal highway technician positions for the winter snow and ice season in Ross and Highland counties. The seasonal opportunities are temporary positions, and will not exceed more than one-thousand hours.
Candidates will be expected to work nights, weekends and holidays, and may be required to make themselves available for on-call duty. Winter season ODOT employees generally work with basic equipment such as backhoes, loaders, graders, tractors and trucks, requiring a Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement. Other duties include snow and ice removal and general highway maintenance.
The employment period begins November 25th, and applicants will be required to pass a physical ability test, and pass a pre-employment drug screening. A link to the applications is available HERE. You can also learn more by calling ODOT District 9’s Human Resources Department at 740-773-2691.
