A food ministry effort by a small Bainbridge church a couple of years ago has since grown into a massive undertaking of helping the needy in some of the region's most poverty stricken areas.
.
Pastor Chas Cottrill of Bainbridge Church of Christ in Christian Union says it started with just wanting to help children and the elderly with food they were not able to get for themselves.
.
Last year they served 1.2 million pounds of food and average serving over 6,000 people per month.

Donations can be made to the organization as well as volunteers are sought to help in the ministry. Go to the J216 social media site for more information.
