The Simon Kenton Council of Boy Scouts will conduct an informational meeting in Chillicothe Tuesday to discuss plans to sell or lease their Chief Logan Camp in Ross County. The meeting is planned for 7pm at the Best Western Adena Inn, located at 1250 North Bridge Street.

Fact sheets provided on their website say that the Chief Logan Reservation would be sold or leased after the 2020 summer camp season, but do not indicate how much land at their Delaware County Camp Lazarus that the council is looking to sell, citing low use and a degradation of facilities in deciding to close the camp.

The 300-acre Chief Logan Reservation, between Chillicothe and Jackson, hosts about 1,100 campers at summer camps and then about 2,000 over the rest of the year. Camp Lazarus attracts 20,000 campers each year, not counting those who attend in summer.
