Authorities in Ross County have released the identity of the woman shot while driving along State Route 104, south of Chillicothe, on Monday.

Ross County Sheriff George Lavender on Tuesday announced the victim as Linda L. Fallis, age 62.

Ms. Fallis had been traveling south along State Route 104/South Bridge Street at around 10:40 a.m. Monday when she was struck by a bullet, fired by a passing motorist.

The suspect, described as a young black male, driving a dark-colored 4-door compact vehicle, has yet to be located.

Ross County Sheriff's Captain Mike Preston released the 911 audio, Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect's vehicle was captured by nearby surveillance footage.

Ms. Fallis was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe following the shooting, and was later transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus, where she continues to be treated. There's been no official word on her condition.
