Authorities in Ross County say they’ve identified a suspect in the non-fatal shooting of a woman along Chillicothe’s South Bridge Street from last week.
-
In a release from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, December 2nd, Ross County Sheriff George Lavender stated evidence collected by investigators led the office to the victim’s ex-husband, James Kendrick, 65, of Delaware, Ohio.
.
The victim, Linda L. Fallis, 62, suffered multiple gunshot wounds when shots were fired from a passing vehicle as Ms. Fallis was driving along South Bridge Street/State Route 104, just south of Cook’s Hill Road. The shooting took place shortly after 10:00 a.m.
.
A male caller at the scene indicated to 911 dispatch that the suspected shooter was a black male, driving a black, four-door compact, however; other witnesses at the scene reported the suspect as an older, or elderly, white male with gray hair and glasses. It’s that information that led investigators to Mr. Kendrick.
.
On Wednesday, November 27th, Sheriff Lavender says investigators obtained a search warrant for Mr. Kendrick’s Delaware, Ohio residence, in addition to an arrest warrant charging Mr. Kendrick with Felonious Assault in connection to the shooting. However, on Wednesday evening, those warrants were executed at Mr. Kendrick’s home, and he was found deceased of an apparent suicide.
.
Sheriff Lavender says the investigation remains ongoing and more details will be released as they become available.
