The sheriff’s office in Delaware County has cancelled a missing person alert for 81-year-old Tom Shoemaker, who had left a residence in Powell at around 10:30am on Thursday and didn’t return. The Ross County native is reported to suffer from dementia.

Shoemaker’s credit card was tracked at a gas station at 6pm in Bridgeport, Ohio.

Mr. Shoemaker is a former resident of Ross County and long-time educator. He is a former Superintendent for the Southeastern Local School District.
Shoemaker was returned to his home.
