Ross County NAACP Scholarship to Benefit from Fluor-BWXT Donation

The educational efforts of the Ross County NAACP will help to be supported thanks to a donation for Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth.

Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth made a recent donation of $500 to the Robert J. Robinson Sr. Scholarship program through the company’s Community Commitment Fund.

“Fluor-BWXT is investing to create opportunities in our region,” said Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth Site Project Director, Bob Smith. “By supporting local organizations such as the Ross County NAACP, we are able to help improve the lives of those in our community.

“Each donation we receive from a business or individual helps a student increase their chances of furthering their education and puts them on the path to become productive successful people who can make positive contributions to our community,” said Ross County NAACP President, Adrienne D’Souza.

The scholarship was named in honor of Robert J. Robinson, Sr. following his death in 2013. Robinson served as the chapter’s president for 19 years.

Last year, four Robert J. Robinson Sr. scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors from Chillicothe High School.
