The Ohio High School Athletic Association has set forth plans for an abbreviated 2020 spring sports season, should Governor Mike Dewine allow schools to reopen by May 4th.
If that occurs, each spring sport would have an acclimation period of May 4th-8th, with actual regular seasons contests beginning as early May 9th.
Post-season contests for baseball would begin May 23rd with the state tournament June 19-21, softball May 30th with state tournament June 25-27, track & field June 9th with state meet June 26-27, tennis May 30th with state tournament June 18-20, and lacrosse May 26th with state finals on June 13.
The coach/player workout planning "no-contact period" still runs through May 1st for any sports, including open gym or open field workouts.
Commissioner Snodgrass added that; "If for any reason specific sites are shut down due to governor’s orders, ALL sites will be shut down and a tournament will not be held."
