Ross County's Count of Recorded COVID-19 Cases Increases to 25

The Ross County Health District is reporting there are now 25 recorded cases of COVID-19 in Ross County residents. In a release on Thursday the district said there has now been 215 tests conducted with 175 negative returns and 15 tests still pending.

The Ross County Health District issued the following release on Thursday, April 16th:

The Ross County Health District is reporting that there are now 25 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ross County residents. The reported cases are for Ross County residents only. Not all confirmed cases were tested at Adena Health System and Adena may have additional confirmed cases that are not Ross County residents as they serve a multi -county region.

At the time of this release, there have been 215 Ross County residents tested, 25 confirmed positive, 175 negative, and 15 suspected (waiting on test results). Those confirmed with COVID-19 range in ages 19-76. There are 16 males and 9 females.

The Health District’s infectious disease staff continue following established contact tracing guidelines and will contact anyone these individuals have been in close contact with.

It has been confirmed there is community spread in Ross County. Ross County Health Commissioner and Medical Director Dr. Christopher Brown and Director of Nursing Michelle Long will be live with City of Chillicothe Mayor Feeney tomorrow Friday, April 17 at 9:30 a.m. to update the public and take questions. Ohio health officials on Thursday, April 16th said there are now more than 82-hundred recorded confirmed cases of Coronavirus across the state. The Ohio Department of Health in its Thursday update reported a total of 8,239 confirmed cases, with 373 deaths confirmed due to virus related complications.
