High school sports stadiums around the country are turning their lights on for 40 minutes Monday night, beginning at 8:20pm to salute graduating seniors that haven’t been able to spend much time in school activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The idea, which originated in Texas, symbolizes the graduation year of 2020, by conducting the salute at 2020 military time on April 20th.
A handful of area high schools are among local stadiums that say they will participate.
