A car chase that started in Pickaway County at about around 11pm Tuesday night, ended in Ross County almost 45 minutes later.
It all started in an area near the Goodynook convenient store on U.S. Route 22 when a Pickaway County Sheriff Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle for traffic infractions. The vehicle sped away at a high speed and took the chase on back roads heading east into the Kingston area. The chase continued south, including roads near Hallsville, State Route 180, State Route 327 and Charleston Pike.
Law enforcement from Pickaway, Ross, and Hocking counties were involved with more than seven cruisers in the chase, which at one point had deputies reporting that shots had been fired at the cruisers.
Stop sticks were deployed by a Ross County Sheriff deputy in the Charleston Pike area where the chase ended and a male and female that were in the vehicle were taken into custody.
Names of the subjects have not yet been released.
