Daycares, Gyms/Fitness Centers Among New List To Get Green Light For Reopen

(24/7 News Source) -- Childcare centers can re-open at the end of this month, but things will look different in Ohio. Governor Mike DeWine made the announcement Thursday, addressing an issue many people across the state were wondering about.

The new guidelines cut classroom sizes to nine children or six-infants and involve hand washing as soon as kids enter and leave facilities. Temperature checks are also to be conducted, with anyone with a temp of more than 100-degrees, has to go home. All field trips are canceled, but recess and playground time is permitted.

The state also announced the re-opening of a number of other activities and businesses. Gyms and all low-and-non-contact sports can resume on May 26th. Day camps can reopen May 31st. Horse racing with no spectators, can reopen on May 22nd.‬

Ohio's BMV offices can re-open in their full capacity on May 26th. All campgrounds can re-open completely on May 21st. Community pools, that are regulated by local health departments, can also re-open on May 26th.

Leaders say all activities will have measures in place to keep people safe from COVID-19.
