Distracted Driver Safety Corridor To Be Used On Route 23 North

The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be initiating a distracted driving safety corridor in an effort to reduce crashes. That’ll be along US 23 in Ross County between milepost 11 and milepost 22 between June 15th and July 31st.

In 2019, there were 13,532 crashes involving distracted driving on Ohio’s roadways. Within this section of U.S. 23, there have been eight crashes related to distracted driving, one of which resulted in a fatality.

The Chillicothe Post will coordinate with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to erect distracted driving enforcement corridor signs.

The purpose of this corridor is to bring awareness and education to the motoring public about the dangers of driving distracted through traffic enforcement.
