Front License Plate No Longer Required in Ohio

(24/7 News Source) -- Starting today, vehicles in Ohio are no longer required to display a front license plate. Sports car collectors had lobbied lawmakers to remove the requirement and successfully got it included in the two-year state transportation bill signed in 2019 by Governor DeWine.

Law enforcement agencies had opposed the bill as a matter of public safety and an important tool in crime-fighting.

Supporters of the measure said it would save the state nearly two-million dollars annually in license plate production costs.
