Jackson woman injured in Pike County crash

A Jackson woman was seriously hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Pike County on Thursday. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Margaret Wood, 53, was driving a Jeep eastbound on State Route 335 just before 9:30 p.m. when she drove left-of-center, went off road, and hit a mailbox and embankment. The vehicle then overturned and Wood was ejected, authorities said.

Authorities said Wood suffered incapacitating injuries and was flown to a West Virginia hospital.

According to the Highway Patrol, impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
