The Division 3 volleyball district championships for the Southeast District are moving dates and times for their three championship matches that were originally scheduled as a triple-header for Saturday, October 31st.
Changes have been made due to the playoff advancement of football teams that also have volleyball teams still in the tournaments, along with the COVID-19 restrictions which require the volleyball tournament gyms be cleared and sanitized between matches. Waverly HS School officials say their volunteers used to run the tournaments were also going to be strapped for time with their football team advancing to play Saturday night, along with a soccer tournament also being held at Waverly.
Instead of Division 3 district finals being at noon, 3pm and 6pm on Saturday, October 31st, the Southeast District is now playing the Southeast District #3 Final at 5:30pm Friday, October 30th. Bracket #2 Final will play at 8:30pm on Friday and the #1 Bracket Final will be played at 11am Saturday, October 31st.
Previous bracket assignments at the time of the draw, have since been changed due to the option the top two seeded teams have in pairing up a potential regional match opponent.
As it stands now, 94 Country WKKJ will broadcast the Friday 5:30pm match, featuring the winners of Adena/Southeastern vs Zane Trace/Northwest district semis, with airtime at 5:15pm.
The 8:30pm Friday Final will feature the winners of Wheelersburg/Eastern Meigs and Nelsonville York/North Adams.
The 11am Saturday match between the winners of Westfall/Huntington and Alexander/New Lexington, will also be broadcast on 94 Country WKKJ with airtime at 10:45am.
In high school football, the Adena at Mechanicsburg Football Playoff game has been moved to London High School, Saturday at 7pm. WKKJ broadcasting with airtime at 6:40pm
