As with many events during the pandemic, this year's Rock for Tots in Chillicothe, will be conducted a little differently compared to years past. The annual event in Chillicothe is going virtual this year in an effort to keep people safe in regard to the ongoing COVID pandemic. Due to COVID-19, the traditional live concert and live charity auction have been scrubbed.
Organizer Paul Pollard says despite not being able to put on the traditional full live show for this year, they're still making an effort to help as many kids as possible, in the same way they do each and every year.
This year's auction will be conducted online from Sunday, December 13th though Sunday, December 20th at auctionohio.com. They have more than 200 items up for auction this year including electronics, memorabilia, toys, tools, bicycles, collectibles, furniture, appliances, flooring, autographed guitars, a weekend getaway, surprises, and more. The proceeds will benefit the 35 children’s charities that Rock for Tots supports.
In addition to the online auction, Rock for Tots is also holding an online telethon for this year, with that taking place at the Majestic Theatre on Tuesday, December 22nd. It'll run from 7pm to 9pm. The online telethon will be aired on Circlevilletv.com. Again, it'll take place from 7 to 9 on Tuesday, December 22nd.
2020 is also the 35th anniversary for the annual Rock for Tots charity event, that serves children and families throughout the southern Ohio region. For more information on Rock for Tots, simply visit the Rock for Tots Facebook page, or visit the the Rock for Tots website, RockforTots.net.
