A winter storm rolling through the eastern one-third of the nation is causing some travel conditions in our area as well.
The National Weather Service posted Winter Storm Warnings for most of the Scioto River Valley and counties to the east, while areas like Fayette and Highland counties were under Winter Weather Advisories.
The counties with winter storm warnings, such as Pickaway, Ross, Pike, Scioto and Jackson counties could see snow accumulation of 3-5 inches. Fayette and Highland counties could see 2-3 inches.
Level 3 Snow Emergencies were issued Thursday night for Jackson and Vinton counties.
Level 2 alerts were placed for Pickaway, Ross, Pike and Scioto counties.
Fayette County is under Level 1.
Most of the snow is expected to be out of our area by late Christmas Eve, but Christmas Day will see much colder temperatures, with daytime highs of 22 and night time lows in the mid teens. Wind chills could drop into the single digits.
