Ohio Stand Your Ground Bill Signed By Governor

(24/7 News Source) -- A controversial gun bill that removes Ohioans duty to retreat provision is now law after being signed by the Governor on Monday.

Governor DeWine indicated last month that he had planned to veto the legislation that allows Ohioans to use deadly force in self-defense without a duty to retreat as long as they are legally allowed somewhere.

DeWine said his issue was not with removing the stand your ground provision but rather with a lack of making it harder for dangerous criminals to possess guns.

The Governor said he would continue to work towards gun law reforms that do not infringe on the Second Amendment.
