A Frankfort man has been indicted in Ross County after leading a State Highway Patrol Trooper on a vehicle chase through Ross and Pike counties.
Terry S. Ross, 35, of Frankfort, has been indicted on a single third-degree felony charge of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and a single fourth-degree count of assault.
According to the Ross County Prosecutor's Office, the initial incident took place on March 5th when an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper witnessed a vehicle on 5th Street in the Village of Bainbridge with a license plate intended for a commercial trailer.
The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver sped away leading to a vehicle pursuit which entered into Pike County and concluded with the vehicle re-entering Ross County. The pursuit was stopped at a private drive on Upper Twin Road. Once stopped, the driver, Mr. Ross, was removed from the vehicle and detained.
In a separate case from Friday's session, a Frankfort man was indicted for a March incident at the Nourse Chillicothe Auto Mall.
Matthew L. Cupp, 28, of Frankfort, has been indicted on a two counts of fourth-degree felony vandalism.
The initial incident took place on March 3rd when a Chillicothe Police Officer was dispatched to the Nourse Auto Mall in regard to a disturbance involving a customer.
On arrival at the scene, the officer was informed by Nourse employees hat Mr. Cupp had become agitated because they would not change the speedometer on his vehicle from 120 mph to 60 mph.
Mr. Cupp is then reported to have taken a key to two vehicles on the showroom floor, causing $8,601 in damage to a GMC Acadia and $7,663 in damage of a Chevy Silverado.
Also indicted during Friday’s Ross County Grand Jury session were:
- Christopher A. Horton, 26, of Jackson, has been indicted on a single fourth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property. The initial incident took place on February 20th.
- Carrie L. Dunkle, 48, of Clarksburg, has been indicted on a single fourth-degree felony count of domestic violence. The initial incident took place on February 25th.
- Tyler D. Zimmerman, 28, of Chillicothe, has been indicted on a single fourth-degree felony charge of aggravated assault. The initial incident took place on January 15th.
All told, 15 cases were presented during Friday’s Ross County Grand Jury with all 15 returned. Only these five were open to the public.
