Ross County Sheriff's Deputies Tuesday were dispatched to a William Drive residence on the report of the discovery of military grade ammunition and what was thought to be some type of explosive device. David Horn told deputies he was at the home cleaning it out following the death of his grandfather and discovered the ordinance. Three automatic weapon rounds for a .50-caliber machine gun were found still in tact and what appeared to be some type of detonator for larger rounds was discovered as well by Horn. Deputies contacted the Franklin County Bomb Squad and they arrived and took possession of the detonator. The rounds of ammunition were deemed to be no concern, but the detonator was eventually disposed of by the bomb squad.
