A shooting early Thursday morning in Washington Court House is being investigated, and could be related to a drug trafficking probe conducted by Fayette County authorities. Washington Police were called to the intersection of East Temple and Delaware Streets shortly after 1:00 Thursday morning on the report of a shooting, and found the body of 45-year-old Robert Gould II lying on the ground. Gould was pronounced dead at the scene. A suspect in the shooting has been taken into custody. Around 4:30 Thursday morning, authorities stopped 28-year-old Kyle Wilson of Washington Court House after receiving a call of a motorist driving erratically on U.S. 35. Cash, suspected narcotics and a firearm were found in the car Wilson was driving. He is currently in the Fayette County Jail. Authorities have been conducting a months-long investigation into drug trafficking, and the shooting death is thought to be related to the probe.
