A new event arrives in downtown Chillicothe on Saturday, December 4th, 2021, with the inaugural Chillicothe Christmas Church Walk.
The Chillicothe Christmas Church Walk committee says that participating on the walk is St. Peter Catholic Church, First Wesleyan Church, Walnut Street United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Chillicothe, and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Each stop along the walk will offer a short program such as advent music at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and St. Mary Catholic Church, a handbell performance at Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Bluegrass music at First Wesleyan Church, and a Praise Dance at the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe.
The walk will begin at 6:30pm for all attendees, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Participants will be divided into three smaller groups to begin their walk to other churches which will be led by a group tour leader. Once all groups complete their visits to First Wesleyan Church, Walnut Street United Methodist Church, and First Baptist Church of Chillicothe, participants will rejoin as one group to finish the walk at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Patrons will get to see the unique features of each churches’ architecture, enjoy holiday decorations, and seasonal inspiration from the programs. “The event was started to unite the community and bring people together, leading the example is the diversity of the churches involved. This is a true celebration of the Christmas season,” shared Charles Frazier, co-organizer of the Chillicothe Christmas Church Walk.
Tickets are limited to ensure that patrons can complete the walk in a timely manner and as a COVID-19 safety precaution. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased through Eventbrite or at the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau located at 230 N. Plaza Blvd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
