A representative of one of two companies building solar energy projects in our broadcast area checked in with the Ross County Commissioners Monday.
Chris Snyder works for Minnesota-based National Grid Renewables, who are in the planning stages for a solar array east of Greenfield, along State Route 41, south of State Route 28. Work has been delayed, but should start in 2023 or 2024.
That project is named "Ross Solar," but they are already working on "Yellowbud Solar" on about 2,000 acres west of Swaney Road and State Route 104.
There on the north edge of Ross County, they started construction last year - but because of weather and supply delays, they have only a few pilings driven. Snyder says work there should start back up in April or May.
You can email the company from the webpages for the two solar projects.
