Authorities in Pickaway County have a Whitehall man in custody after a high speed chase over the weekend. 21-year-old Cheik Sarr was clocked speeding at almost 90-miles-an-hour in a 2011 Honda Accord on US 23 near Pittsburgh Road Saturday, when troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol attempted to pull him over. Sarr refused to stop, and attempted to elude law enforcement in a chase in which Sarr's vehicle reached speeds of over 100-miles-an-hour. Sarr at one point droved through a field after crossing the median on 23 near Hagerty Road, and even sideswiped a Pickaway County Sheriffs' vehicle. Sarr then drove north on Little Walnut Road, where he was boxed in by law enforcement after passing Cromley Road. Sarr is in the Pickaway County Jail and is being charged with OVI, possession of drugs-marijuana, failure to comply with order of a police officer, speeding, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, not wearing a seat belt and reckless operation. He also has a felony warrant out of Bexley for counterfeiting.
