Dewine wins, will face Whaley for Governor

A number of local issues were on Tuesday's ballot. Voters turned down a proposed tax levy for the Adena Local Schools. The proposed funds would have gone towards upgrades to school facilities and the sports complex. Tax levys for the Harrison Township Fire and EMS and the Twin Township Fire and EMS also failed. Voter turnout was reported to be low locally, the Chillicothe Gazette reports the Ross County Board of Elections says less than 20% of registered voters cast ballots Tuesday. Ohio's race for Governor in November is now set after Tuesday's primary election. Former Dayton mayor Nan Whaley is the projected winner in the Democrat race for Ohio governor, as she defeated former Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley....Incumbent Governor DeWine is getting the nod on the Republican ticket. JD Vance is the presumptive winner in the GOP's hotly contested bid for U.S. Senate, with Tim Ryan representing the Democrats. Current Secretary of State Frank LaRose has also been selected by Republicans.
