A Congressman and U.S. Senator are visiting Pike County tomorrow to address the A-plant, and closure of a nearby school.
U.S. Representative Tim Ryan, a member of the House Appropriations Committee’s Energy and Water Subcommittee - and Senator Joe Manchin, Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee - will host a roundtable and talk with local stakeholders Thursday afternoon.
Following a site visit at Zahn’s Corner Middle School and a community listening session, in a news release Ryan and Manchin said they will host a press conference to discuss their commitment to ensure transparency at the Department of Energy while supporting cleanup at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant...address efforts to build a new middle school...and work to transform Pike County and Southern Ohio into an advanced energy hub.
