As March begins, Pioneer Center is busy with activities and events for Developmental Disabilities (DD) Awareness Month.
“While acceptance and inclusion for people with developmental disabilities is at the forefront of what we do every day, DD Awareness Month events give us the opportunity to involve community members, businesses and schools in our efforts to increase awareness,” said Superintendent of the Pioneer Center, Amy Beeler.
Local events and initiatives for the month include:
March 1st, 9:30 AM – 11:00 at Pioneer Center Administration Building - Statehouse DD Awareness & Advocacy Day Virtual Viewing Party
March 2nd, 10 AM – 11 AM in Downtown Chillicothe – DD Month Walk for Awareness & Proclamation Ceremony
March 2nd, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at Pump House Center for the Arts – DD Month Art Showcase Opening Night
March 21st, 4PM-6PM at Cavalier Skating Rink – Rock Your Socks Skating Party
March 24th, 6 PM-9PM at Elks Lodge #52 – Party at the Elks with Felony4 and Lori Graves
March 29th, 6 PM – 8:30 PM at Chillicothe High School – Special Olympics Celebrity Basketball Game & Banquet
March 30th, 6 PM-8PM at Ross County Service Center – Pioneer Center Annual Awards Banquet
