Police in Chillicothe are investigating the non-fatal shooting of a 14-year-old girl.
Officers on Thursday, March 9th, at around 6:30 p.m., responded to a report of a gunshot fired near the Yoctangee Park skate park.
At the scene, officers arrived to find a 14-year-old juvenile female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment and was then transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
In a release on Friday, Chillicothe Police Captain Michael A.D. Short said preliminary information indicates the shooting stemmed from a dispute between two groups of juveniles with prior history.
The shooting is under investigation by the Chillicothe Police Detective Division.
