Police in Hillsboro are investigating the fatal shooting of a 53-year-old man.
Hillsboro Police Officers responded to an apartment at 801 Treewood Drive following a 911 call shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. At the scene, officers found 53-year-old John W. Norris dead from a fatal gunshot wound.
In a release, Hillsboro Police Chief Eric Daniels said a person of interest has been taken into custody on unrelated charges. Formal charges are pending further investigation.

The department has requested assistance from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and Ohio BCI.
