A woman died in a crash on US 35 in Jackson County Tuesday afternoon. The Jackson Post of the Highway Patrol reported the two-vehicle crash happened about 4pm.
64-year-old Ruth Ervin of Jackson pulled across the eastbound lanes of US 35 from Dixon Run Road in a 2014 Nissan, and was struck in the left side by a 2011 Chevrolet truck driven by 50-year-old Ryan Rose of Jackson.
Ervin was transported to Holzer Medical Center of Jackson where she succumbed to her injuries. Rose received only minor injuries and was not transported for treatment. Rose was wearing a safety belt and Ervin was not.
US35 remained open to travel. The Bloomfield Township Fire Department, Jackson County EMS and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were also on scene.
