Jeffersonville Shooting Suspect Apprehended in Columbus

The man sought by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office for a February 23rd shooting in Jeffesonville has been apprehended.

Fayette County Sheriff’s detectives and members of the United States Marshal’s Service apprehended David A. DeJarnette Jr. early Wednesday morning in an east Columbus neighborhood.  

DeJarnette was transported to the Franklin County Jail where he will await an extradition hearing before a Franklin County judge before being returned to Fayette County to answer to a Felonious Assault charge.

DeJarnette, 28, of Washington Court House, is the suspect in the shooting of William N. Prigmore, 34, of Dayton, at the Summer Tree Apartment complex on North Main Street in the Village of Jeffersonville last Wednesday evening.  

Upon return to Fayette County, DeJarnette will answer to the charge of felonious assault before the Washington Court House Municipal Court.  Fayette County Prosecutor Jess Weade will review the details of the investigation to determine if additional charges will be filed.
