A Ross County Jail inmate is dead following a suicide attempt.
According to Ross County Sheriff, George Lavender, his staff was alerted to a suicide attempt at the Ross County jail shortly after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Robert Edward Thacker, 50, was transported by Chillicothe Fire to Adena Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased after his arrival.
Ohio BCI is handling the investigation into the prisoner's death.
