Four Charged as Result of Drug Interdiction Effort on U.S. 23


Four people have been charged following a traffic stop made Wednesday as part of a drug interdiction effort on U.S. 23 in Ross County.

According to Ross County Sheriff, George Lavender, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a moving violation around 8:00 p.m.

A Ross County Sheriff's K-9 alerted to the vehicle which was occupied by several individuals. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded suspected Heroin, drug abuse instruments, and items consistent with the drug trafficking.

The driver, Brian Burton, 35, was charged with Driving Under Suspension. He was also wanted on a warrant of the Common Pleas Court. Brittany Lemaster, 24, was charged with Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. Scottie Colburn, 26, was charged with Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments, and Corey Brown, 26, was charged with Felony Drug Abuse.

The arrests were made with cooperation from the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force.
