Chillicothe's Payless Shoe Source is not among the list of stores to be closed.
Payless shoes has filed for bankruptcy and the company recently announced that it will immediately close 400 stores in the US. It's part of a restructuring plan that's been in the works for months. The CEO of Payless called it "a difficult decision", but necessary to build a stronger company.
Payless has 4,400 stores in 30 countries. Locations in Ohio to close include stores in Cincinnati and Columbus.
