Single-Vehicle Crash on S.R. 729 Claims Life of Fayette County Man

A Fayette County man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on State Route 729 near its intersection with West Fork Road in Jasper Township.

According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, a 2003 Ford F-series pickup truck operated by Daniel Hiser, Age 25 of Milledgeville, Ohio was traveling east on S.R. #729 shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when he failed to negotiate a curve.  Hiser lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway, re-crossed the center line and traveled off the right side of the roadway before striking the ditch.  The vehicle rolled and came to rest of the driver’s side, partially ejecting Hiser from the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

Hiser was airlifted from the crash scene by Med-Flight to the Kettering Medical Center and later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Agencies responding to the crash scene in addition to the Sheriff’s Office were Fayette County EMS and the Sabina Fire Department.  Members of the Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
