"Walk with a Doc" Starting Again

(Adena Health System) -- Adena is once again committed to encouraging healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reversing the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle. To improve the health and well-being of people in our region, the Health System will begin its second year of hosting a series of Walk with a Doc programs.

The free one-hour walking program offers participants an opportunity to talk with Adena doctors and nurses in a casual setting, while walking toward better health. In 2016 Adena held 16 Walk with a Doc events.

Adena’s next Walk with a Doc program will take place on Wednesday, April 26, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Ross County YMCA. Future Walk with a Doc programs will be held on the last Wednesday of each month throughout the remainder of the year at the same time and location.

Walk With a Doc programs will also be held the third Saturday of every month at Hopewell Culture National Historic park at 10 a.m. beginning May 20th.

The program is open to people of all ages and walking abilities.

To register for any of Adena’s Walk with a Doc programs go to www.adena.org/walkwithadoc or call (740) 779-8664. Monthly Walk with a Doc topics and updates will be announced on Adena’s Facebook page.
