As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for an intersection improvement project in Ross County.
It is proposed to improve the intersection of State Route 159 and Delano Road in Green Township. The project includes rehabilitating the traffic signal, installing turn lanes and extending the existing concrete box culvert. The culvert extension is required to accommodate the addition of turn lanes.
The project will require approximately 0.721 acres of permanent and 0.143 acres of temporary right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result.
Currently, a full closure of the route should not be required, but short-term, intermittent periods of closure may be necessary to complete all or portions of the project.
Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
