Local "Drug Take Back Day" this Saturday

Kroger and the Ross County Sheriff's Office are working to fight the prescription drug abuse epidemic, by once again hosting "Drug Take Back Day" this Saturday, April 29th.

The event will take place from 10am to 2pm at the North Bridge Street Kroger in Chillicothe. Those wishing to get rid of any unused or expired medication can drive through the Kroger parking lot and drop off their medications to Ross County Sheriff deputies.  (Medications cannot be accepted in the store or by anyone other than a sheriff deputy.)

Medications can also be dropped off at the Ross County Law Complex at the same time and date.

Ross County Sheriff George Lavender says they're always amazed by the amount of pills collected during these events.
