In Circleville Council Tuesday evening, the closing of a major industrial employer cast a pall on the city's budget.
City Auditor Gayle Spangler reported, "the city's revenue is flat, and income taxes are falling."
The city is starting to feel the closing down of the GE plant. They had their last run of light bulbs recently.
Spangler says they'll revise numbers in August. The 2018 budget will be reviewed on two levels: look at the revenue, and adjust expenditures.
She says they anticipated the loss of GE, but are hopeful for ongoing business development...but then are pessimistic about the state's recently notorious budgeting.
