According to Sheriff Robert Radcliff, of the Pickaway County Sheriff's Department, on Monday around 8:45 AM, the Sheriff's 911 Dispatcher received a call from a female victim who claimed to have been pulled over for speeding by an unknown person.
The unknown person claimed to be a police officer on his way to work, and would not show identification. The victim claimed to believe the person was impersonating an officer. The investigation revealed several inconsistencies in the description of the event. After further investigation, the supposed victim, 19-year-old Madison Stacey, was charged with creating a false alarm by falsifying a police report.
Sheriff Radcliff stated that these types of incidents do occur. If anyone in an unmarked vehicle attempts to stop you, call 911 immediately, or drive to the nearest police station.
